Our second Education 2020 forum will take place on October 7 from 10:00 am to 1:30 pm at the JW Marriott Hotel.
Introduction to Concept Based Education
The framework that will be shared is a universal approach to education and not restricted to any one board of education. Teachers can integrate the framework into their curriculum planning. It allows them to impart factual and conceptual knowledge with greater depth and rigor. More information is at this link.
Environment Education: Teaching Sustainability to Students
There are a range of problems related to land, air & water pollution, as well as waste management, loss of biodiversity, and energy insecurity. All of these are connected to the complex issue of climate change. Ekonnect Knowledge Foundation is a Consilience partner that focuses on imparting education about these environment related issues and potential solutions. Ekonnect has designed a Climate Change Resources Toolkit (CCRT) that is available for use by schools. Following a short presentation about the importance of teaching sustainability, they will conduct a “Walk through of the CCRT” as an exhibition.
