Maker Academy – Enhance and develop your skills with capacities in Making and Tinkering.
Schools need more learning by doing, making, tinkering, inventing, and engineering. The term ‘Maker’ refers to using a wide variety of hands-on activities (such as building, programming, Internet of Things, 3D printing, wearable technologies) to support academic learning and the development of a mindset that values playfulness and experimentation, growth and iteration, and collaboration and community.
Making is a way of bringing creativity and engineering to young learners and Tinkering is a powerful form of learning by doing. Together, these develop a mindset that values playfulness and experimentation, growth and iteration, and collaboration and community. When students learn through Making, they learn to investigate, inquire, and decide how to recombine information and materials to make something new.
